In Liberia we have two seasons – rainy and dry season.

Dry season is equivalent to summer in the United States and Europe so as you can imagine it’s quite okay to wear bright and vibrant prints. Even though there is no official fashion police, during the rainy season people normally transition to more subdued darker – winter and fall like colors.

If you like to wear African prints, but feel you need to wear more subdued colors, you can continue to do so year round by simply gravitating to more monotone prints, and deeper natural hues. If you’re in a cold environment you can also layer your clothes and pair them with more winter appropriate pieces such as sweaters, turtle necks, and corduroys.
