At some point in the year, most people say goodbye to the warmer temperatures of summer or dry-season, and welcome in the cooler temperatures of fall or rainy-season. We therefore tend to stock up on pieces, such as jeans, which can transition though various seasons – these items tend to give us the most “mileage.” African fashion, because of its bright prints and lighter fabric, used to be relegated strictly to summer. At Afropolitan, we say, NO MORE – rather, take those cherished prints you loved wearing all summer long and make them work even when the temperature “falls.”
To showcase how to transition when it gets cooler outside, we styled a few of our favorite warm weather items.
Top pieces with a jacket or raincoat.
Go with warmer colored prints, and pair them with darker colors like tan, black and brown.
Pair your outfits with a staple fall piece, such as a turtle-neck.
Wear pieces with a long-sleeve, button-down shirt.
